“McNuggets, McNuggets Rock”

In 2007, I saw these two guys on YouTube beat-boxing their ode to McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets and thought I have got to make a spot out of this. So I downloaded their video and cut a :30 on iMovie to see if it would work (it did) then sold the idea to my clients in NY, Boston & Minneapolis, knowing their markets would soon be promoting offers on McNuggets. And for the first time in history, actual user-generated YouTube content was featured in a TV spot. Soon after it aired, Fernando and Thomas* were all over the press and their little tune went viral. More importantly, McNuggets sales shot up an average of 42% in markets where the spot ran. If you have two minutes, check out the buzz video to see the ripple effect.
